Sharp Aquos 102SH mobile phone

It seems that you can’t even mention a smartphone these days without talking about the iPhone in same topic. From all the smart phones I’ve seen no other manufacturer can come close the same quality display that is on the iPhone 4, Until now. Sharp has made screens for phones over in Japan recently and the latest one has a good footing to compete with the Apple Giant. This new phone has some very impressive hardware that could very well match that of the crew in Cupertino. With the announcement of the next iPhone only a few days away we have yet to see what lays before us with the new handset. So keep that in mind.

The hardware on the Sharp phone is strong…

  • Android 2.3
  • 4.5-inch naked-eye 3D LCD screen with 720×1280 resolution and 329dpi pixel density
  • 12MP CMOS camera with full HD video recording
  • compatible with SoftBank’s “Ultra Speed” high-speed data communication service (max. 21Mbps)
  • TI OMAP4430 dual-core CPU (1GHz)
  • RAM: 1GB, ROM: 2.2GB
  • waterproof body (IPX5/7, IP5X)
  • IEEE802.11b/g/n Wifi
  • Bluetooth 3.0
  • DLNA support
  • microSDHC card slot
  • infrared connection
  • e-wallet function
  • digital TV tuner
  • W-CDMA, GSM
  • size: 128×65×9.7mm, weight: 135g

as quoted by Tech Crunch

The next question is, will this phone ever be sold in the US? As of May this year Sharp announced the would bring their Aquos brand phones to countries outside of Japan.

If there was ever any competition to the iPhone it could very well be this.
