So you may have heard of “find my iPhone” from Apple. Which via google maps will find your iPhone to help recover that lost or stolen device. Well there is a similar app for Mac that helps do the same thing. This app is great I have been running it on my Mac for the past year and thank goodness I have never had to use it. You can put it into a test mode to verify functionality which will react as if you reported it stolen.
Once you find that your Mac has been stolen you simply log onto the Hidden website and click the “Stolen” button from the home screen. This will start to track your Mac and will also take a picture using the iSight camera. It will also give you a location on a map.
Hidden has a yearly fee of $15 for one computer. That’s a small price to pay if this program helps recover your computer.
Check out Hiddenapp.com If you would like to learn more. Here is a video of hidden in action. Hidden.
