Setting up your Google services on iOS

Setting up your Gmail by using Microsoft Exchange will let all of your google service not only sync but also push new notifications to your device. When you add a contact or an event in google calendar will show up on your device without the need to sync.

So first open the Settings app and go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars then Add Account

next choose Microsoft Exchange (not Google)

You will now need to enter your email in the “Email” section. Don’t bother with the Domain (leave blank) and now enter your FULL email address in the user name area. Enter your password and enter what ever you want for the description.

If you get a “Unable to Verify Certificate” message cancel out and in the new “Server” section enter – m.google.com

Then hit next.

Make sure to turn ON all the mail, contact and calendar syncing account settings page. If you would like more detailed info you can refer to Google’s help page Here.
