Copy iTunes music between libraries-Mac or PC

If you have ever wanted to get a copy of an album or track from another iTunes library, you can do it quickly and easily. There are other ways to export or transfer your entire library but I will be specifically dealing with Albums and tracks. For the sake of  this tutorial I will take it that you have your music stored in “My Documents on PC  and it should be in the Home folder on Mac”.

Here’s what you need to do.

1. open your Music folder in the Home folder in Finder or My Documents (or wherever your iTunes library is stored)

2. In your Music folder navigate to “iTunes>iTunes media>Music”

3. Find the Album or track you want to copy, right-click and copy it.

4. Save it to a flash drive or what ever storage media you choose.

Once you’re at the destination computer where you want to copy the music to, follow these steps.

1. open your Music folder in Finder or My Documents.

2.In your Music folder navigate to “iTunes>iTunes media

3. In the iTunes media folder you should have a folder titled “Automatically Add to iTunes” open it and copy the music there.

4. Open the iTunes application and iTunes will add the music that you put into the Auto add to iTunes folder.

you can now sync your device to add the copied content.

in doing this, it will also carry over track names and album art work as well.
